Hello! I'm Kimberly Goldwein.
photographer + communications consultant + toddler momma
I'm a lifestyle photographer, and I capture timeless portraits in a relaxed environment using natural light. My clients include families, young professionals, small businesses, schools, nonprofits, and entrepreneurs. My portfolio includes newborn, maternity, family, lifecycle and special event, headshots, and marketing/ branding/ campaign photos.
My education and background are in public affairs and strategic communications, so I also take on a select few creative consulting clients each year. Need some comms chops or a new site? Let's chat.
For family portraits, I capture a mix of casually-posed portraits (because Grandma wants that smiling family shot) and lifestyle, documentary images (you living your beautiful life). I love capturing those moments where clients looks back at images and say, "Yup, that's so us." And I love sessions where clients say, "Wow. That was so chill...and fun."
My headshots as well as brand, marketing, and event photography are bright, clean, and relaxed. My aim is to create images that are authentic to each client's style and vision while utilizing natural and urban landscapes as backdrops. Let's grab a coffee or something a little stronger and take some photos that you LOVE.
Snapshots that document that feeling of togetherness.
I live in Cleveland Park in NW DC with my husband and our young daughter in a 1930s colonial. I grew up in the suburbs of Orlando, Florida (hit me up for Disney tips) and hold a B.A. from Rollins College and an M.A. from Brown University. Before starting KG Photo, I worked in-house as a communications and photo/video professional at Georgetown Day School and as a communications consultant with the public affairs firm SKDKnickerbocker.
Prior to Covid, you could find me in the sunniest windows of DC coffee shops nursing a matcha latte while wearing a dress and editing photos of all you beautiful people and your beautiful work. Now you can find me on my sofa throwing back endless matcha lattes while wearing leggings and editing all the photos to the soundtrack of my toddler playing her ukulele while running circles and creating original lyrics such as, "We went to the Capitol Building...but it was closed.... because of the virus....we will go back... again."
Life can be complicated. (see above.) Photos shouldn't be. Let's have some fun.
